Tom Cotton is a US senator for Arkansas, serving on the banking, intelligence, and armed services committees, the latter of which as the air, land, and power subcommittee chair. Previously, he worked for McKinsey & Co. and served one term in the US House of Representatives. In response to the September 11th attacks, Cotton left a clerkship with the US Court of Appeals and private law practice to served nearly five years on active duty as an Army infantry officer in Iraq with the 101st Airborne and in Afghanistan with a provincial reconstruction team. Cotton’s military decorations include the Bronze Star medal, Combat Infantry badge, and Ranger tab.
