Snigdha Poonam is a national affairs writer with the Hindustan Times in Delhi and author of Dreamers: How Young Indians Are Changing the World, which follows the lives of young Indians in small towns and villages to uncover toxic masculinity, spirited ambition, and a hunger for change. Her stories about a changing India have also appeared in international publications like The New York Times, The Guardian, Granta, and the Financial Times. Poonam won the 2017 Journalist of Change award of Bournemouth University for an investigation of student suicides that appeared on Huffington Post. Her essay “Lady Singham’s Mission Against Love” was runner-up for the 2015 Bodley Head-Financial Times Essay Prize.
