Renee DiResta

Technical Research Manager, Stanford Internet Observatory

Renée DiResta is the technical research manager at Stanford Internet Observatory, which studies abuse in information technologies. She examines how the information ecosystem is leveraged to exert influence and applies her findings to policy, education, and design responses. Previously, DiResta was the director of research at Yonder and a founder and head of marketing and business development at Haven. The author of The Hardware Startup and a contributor at Wired and The Atlantic, her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and on CNN, among many other news outlets. Founding advisor to the Center for Humane Technology, DiResta is an Emerson fellow, Council on Foreign Relations term member, and a Truman national security fellow.
