
Nils Christoffersen
Executive Director, Wallowa Resources
Nils Christoffersen is executive director of Wallowa Resources, a community-based nonprofit working to sustain working lands and livelihoods in northeast Oregon. Since 1999, he has led development of the organization’s forest restoration, watershed stewardship, and education programs, as well as its for-profit subsidiary investments in wood products, biomass, and renewable energy. A founding member of Rural Voices for Conservation Coalition, Christoffersen also serves on the board of Winding Waters Community Health Clinic and the Aspen Institute’s Rural Action Roundtable on Equity. With global experience in natural resource management, he previously served on the Oregon Board of Forestry, the governor of Oregon’s Wildfire Response Council, and the National Commission on Science for Sustainable Forestry, among others.
