
Joshua Johnson
Founding Host, "1A," WAMU and NPR
Joshua Johnson is the founding host of “1A”, a national news/talk radio show produced by WAMU in Washington, DC, and distributed by NPR. Previously, he was the morning newscaster for five years at KQED in San Francisco. While at KQED, Johnson co-created and hosted “Truth Be Told,” a nationwide public radio series that explored race in America, and taught podcasting at University of California Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. He began his public radio career helping launch a regional news partnership between Miami’s NPR station, WLRN, and The Miami Herald. Johnson is active in the National Association of Black Journalists.
