Student; Scientist; Author, A Young Innovator’s Guide to STEM

Gitanjali Rao is a student inventor, scientist, and STEM promotor. Her inventions include the early lead detection tool Tethys, which earned her recognition as America’s Top Young Scientist and an EPA President’s Environmental Youth Award; Epione, a device for early diagnosis of opioid addiction; and the anti-cyberbullying service Kindly. Rao conducts STEM workshops globally, inspiring over 49,500 students to date, and presents in global and corporate forums on innovation and the importance of STEM. Author of A Young Innovator's Guide to STEM, she was honored in Forbes’s 2019 30 Under 30 in Science list and as TIME’s Top Young Innovator and Kid of the Year in 2020. Prudential named Rao one of America’s Top Youth Volunteers for her workshops.
