Errin Haines is a founder and editor at large of The 19th, a nonprofit, independent newsroom focused on the intersection of gender, politics, and policy. An MSNBC contributor, she is an expert on issues of race, gender, and politics and has taught classes at Georgetown University Institute of Politics and Princeton University. Previously, Haines was The Associated Press’s national writer on race and ethnicity. She has also reported for The Washington Post, The Orlando Sentinel, The Los Angeles Times, and the Atlanta Daily World. Haines was named the 2017 Print Journalist of the Year by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists and awarded the 2020 Vernon Jarrett Medal for Journalistic Excellence by Morgan State University.
