
Ann Veneman is a former executive director of UNICEF (2005-2010) and US agriculture secretary (2001 to 2005). She was also secretary of California’s Department of Food and Agriculture, held various positions at USDA, and practiced law. Veneman’s current board service includes the Global Innovative Health Technology Fund, Clinton Health Access Initiative, and Just Capital, among others. Aspeaker on poverty alleviation, empowering women and girls, food security, and global health, she’s been a fellow at Harvard School of Public Health and worked with the Bipartisan Policy Center on nutrition and political reform issues. Venemanwas named to the Forbes’s 2009 World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list.
