If we imagine the future we want, instead of the future we fear, can we inspire action? It’s the year 2100. After a push in the early part of the century by students, grassroots advocates, and policymakers, nations came together and ended greenhouse gas pollution once and for all. While we couldn’t stop all of the negative impacts of climate change, the worst were avoided. We increased the pace of innovation, even from that of the 20th century, all across the economy. Teams of scientists and entrepreneurs developed products from see-through solar panels lining skyscrapers, to flying autonomous electric taxis, to 3D-printed food and goods using sustainable materials. This panel discusses the ideas needed to get from here to there.
